Anti-Ageing Treatments
Personalised treatments aimed at improving common signs of skin ageing
What is Anti-Ageing treatments?
Skin ages in several separate ways at once, and each needs a different answer. Collagen and elastin decline, so the skin thins and loses its spring. Fat pads shift and shrink and the bone underneath remodels, so the face loses support. Years of sunlight leave uneven pigment, broken vessels and roughness, and repeated expression sets creases into the surface.
Because the causes differ, a single treatment corrects only part of the picture. An anti-ageing plan combines what suits your skin: treatments that stimulate collagen and resurface the surface, injectable treatments that restore support or soften movement, and prescription skincare used daily at home.
The plan is built over months and reviewed as the skin responds. Daily sun protection and a prescription home routine hold whatever the clinic achieves, and without them the result fades faster than it should.
What it involves
Treatment happens as Day Care sessions with no general anaesthetic. Numbing cream is applied for twenty to thirty minutes before anything that warrants it, and some treatments need none at all.
At the first visit your doctor examines your skin in good light, sometimes with imaging that shows sun damage below the surface, goes through what troubles you most, and sets out a sequence: what is treated first, how many sessions, and how they are spaced. Photographs are taken at the start.
Individual sessions run twenty to forty-five minutes and are spaced three to six weeks apart. Most are comfortable, with heat, tingling or prickling during the session. You go home the same day, usually with sunscreen applied before you leave, and instructions on what to avoid for the next few days.
Recovery
Most sessions need no time off. Skin is pink, warm and slightly tight for a few hours to two days, much like mild sunburn, and make-up can normally go on the following day.
Deeper resurfacing is the exception. Expect five to seven days of redness, flaking and peeling, and plan it for a quiet week. Anything involving injections can leave bruising for three to seven days.
Results are gradual. Treatments that work by stimulating collagen build over six to twelve weeks after each session, and the fuller effect of a course appears three to six months after it finishes, so photographs matter more than a mirror. Strict sun avoidance and daily sunscreen for the weeks after each session are the difference between a good result and a patch of darker pigment.
Questions about Anti-Ageing treatments
How many sessions will I need?
Most collagen-stimulating and resurfacing treatments are given as a course of three to six sessions spaced three to six weeks apart, with maintenance once or twice a year afterwards. Injected treatments follow their own schedule, from three to four months for muscle relaxing injections to a year or more for volume. Your doctor should give you the number, the spacing and the approximate total at the first consultation, before you start. Photographs at the start and at each review are how the course is judged, since the change is gradual.
Is it safe for Indian skin?
Yes, with a practitioner who adjusts for it. Deeper skin tones respond to heat and injury by producing pigment, so an aggressive setting intended for pale skin can leave the treated area darker for weeks or months. That is managed by choosing suitable devices and depths, using lower settings over more sessions, preparing the skin with prescription creams for a few weeks beforehand, and strict sun protection afterwards. Ask the doctor directly what experience they have with your skin type and to show you their own before-and-after photographs of similar skin.
When will I see a difference?
Sooner for some parts of the plan than others. Injected treatments show within days to two weeks. Treatments that work by stimulating your own collagen build over six to twelve weeks after each session, and the fuller effect of a whole course appears three to six months after the last one, so patience is part of the treatment. Pigment and surface texture usually improve earlier than firmness does. Take a photograph in the same light at the start and every six weeks, since day-to-day change in a mirror is invisible.
